Whole Wheat Bread and Mushroom Turkey Dressing
|Dry white wine||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Small fresh mushrooms||1 Pound, halved|
|Green onions||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped|
|Whole wheat bread cubes||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs), toasted|
|Slivered almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), toasted|
|Dried whole thyme||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Dried marjoram||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Chicken broth||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (optional)|
1) Take a medium saucepan and combine together wine, butter, green onions and mushrooms. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes or until mushrooms get tender.
2) Add the next 5 ingredients to the mixture. Stir nicely together.
3) Add the chicken broth and stir to mix well.
4) Use the dressing to stuff inside the turkey. You can store the dressing by spooning gently inside a 1 quart casserole.
