Spicy Banana Nut Bread
|Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Sugar||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Pure vanilla extract||1 Teaspoon|
|All-purpose flour||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Bananas||1 Cup (16 tbs), mashed|
|Nuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
1 Grease the bottom of a 9 1/4 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 -inch loaf pan.
2 Preheat the oven to 350°Fahrenheit.
3 In a bowl, cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
4 Beat in eggs and vanilla and mixing well.
5 In another bowl, sift flour, measure and sift again with baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cardamom and mace.
6 Stir in to the creamed mixture alternately with bananas.
7 Add in the nuts.
8 Gradually, pour batter into the prepared pan and bake in the oven for 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes.
9 Can be served warm or cold at any meal.
