Ingredients
  White corn meal 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Flour 1 Tablespoon
  Hot water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1 Tablespoon, melted
Directions

Combine meal, flour, salt, shortening & baking soda, mix well.
Add enough hot water to make a soft batter, stirring as you do so.
Bake in cakes on well greased griddle, like pancakes.
