Pecan Or Almond Bread Stuffing
|Butter/Margarine||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Diced celery||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Finely chopped onion||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Day old bread cubes||5 Cup (80 tbs) (1/2 Inch Size)|
|Hot water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Poultry seasoning||3 Teaspoon|
|Chopped pecans/Toasted almonds||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Melt butter or margarine in large skillet.
Add celery and onion; cover and cook slowly until onion is tender, not brown.
Remove from heat.
Add remaining ingredients; toss lightly.
Excellent for chicken, Rock Cornish hens, capon, duck or goose.
For turkey, turn stuffing into casserole and bake along with turkey last 45 minutes of roasting.
