Whole Wheat Batter Bread
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs), scalded|
|Warm water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unsifted whole wheat flour||2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)|
|Unsifted flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Mix the milk, sugar, salt and margarine in a bowl and cool to lukewarm.
Dissolve the yeast in warm water, then stir into milk mixture.
Stir in the flours and beat until well blended.
Cover and let rise for about 40 minutes or until doubled in bulk.
Stir down and beat well.
Turn into a greased casserole.
Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes.
Remove from casserole and brush with additional margarine.
