Soda Bread With Raisins

  Cake flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Baking soda 2 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Vegetable shortening 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Raisins 3 Tablespoon
  Caraway seeds 1 Tablespoon
  Milk 18 Tablespoon

Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Sift the dry ingredients together into a large bowl.
Using a pastry cutter or 2 knives, cut the shortening into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
Add the raisins, caraway seeds, and milk.
Mix the dough until it forms a shaggy mass.
Turn the dough out onto lightly floured board and knead for 20 seconds.
Divide the dough into 2 or 24 pieces.
Form each piece into a ball, pressing the seams together on the bottom.
Dust the rounds with flour and lightly score a cross into the top of each with a sharp knife.
Bake loaves for 30 minutes and rolls for about 8 to 12 minutes, or until they are lightly brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Let cool on wire racks.
