|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sifted flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Milk||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Grated lemon rind||1 Tablespoon|
Cream margarine, add salt and sugar gradually and one egg at a time, beating well.
Add lemon rind, milk, flour and baking powder.
Pour into greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350° for 55 minutes.
While loaf is still hot, spoon over bread the juice of one lemon and 1/2 cup sugar that has been brought to a boil enough to dissolve sugar.
