Wholemeal And Oat Soda Bread

Ingredients
  Stone ground whole wheat flour 1 1⁄2 Pound (750 Gram)
  Plain white flour 8 Ounce (250 Grams)
  Rolled oats 6 Ounce (185 Grams)
  Salt 4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 4 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon
  Warm milk 1 Pint (600 Milliliter)
  Water 1⁄2 Pint (300 Milliliter)
Directions

Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add the milk and water to make a dough which will hold its shape for a few minutes before starting to spread.
Working quickly, form the dough into a round shape, cut a cross over the top, then put it on to a floured baking-tray.
Bake at 220°C/425°F/Gas Mark 7 for 35-40 minutes, and turn on to a wire rack to cool.
