Wholemeal And Oat Soda Bread
|Stone ground whole wheat flour||1 1⁄2 Pound (750 Gram)|
|Plain white flour||8 Ounce (250 Grams)|
|Rolled oats||6 Ounce (185 Grams)|
|Baking powder||4 Teaspoon|
|Warm milk||1 Pint (600 Milliliter)|
|Water||1⁄2 Pint (300 Milliliter)|
Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add the milk and water to make a dough which will hold its shape for a few minutes before starting to spread.
Working quickly, form the dough into a round shape, cut a cross over the top, then put it on to a floured baking-tray.
Bake at 220°C/425°F/Gas Mark 7 for 35-40 minutes, and turn on to a wire rack to cool.
