Garlic Snacking Bread

Ingredients
  Olive oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Finely minced garlic 1 Tablespoon (Not Pressed)
  Whole wheat flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Unbleached all purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Mixed dried herb/Store-bought italian seasoning 1 Teaspoon (Not Ground Herbs, Your Own Combination- Rosemary And Marjoram, Thyme And Dill, Or Tarragon And Basil)
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Can Be Low Fat)
  Egg/1/4 cup prepared egg substitute 1
Directions

Preheat the oven to 400° F.
Choose a heavy 11-by-7-inch pan or 10-inch cast-iron skillet.
Pour in the oil.
Sprinkle with garlic.
Put the pan on the range top on warm until the garlic sizzles and softens.
(This will also grease the pan.) Let the mixture cool to lukewarm while taking the next steps.
Sift together both flours with the baking powder and salt.
Stir in the herbs.
In a separate bowl, combine the milk and egg.
Scrape in all of the garlic and oil from the prepared pan, and whisk this together with the milk and egg mixture.
When ready to bake, pour the liquid ingredients into the dry, stir just enough to blend completely, and spoon the batter into the oiled pan.
Quickly use a spatula to level the batter, and bake the bread on the top shelf for 20 minutes, or until it's lightly browned and tests dry when pierced with a cake tester.
