Cheddar Apple Bread
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Canned apple pie filling||20 Ounce (1 Can, No. 2 Size)|
|Sifted flour||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Shredded cheddar cheese||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts/Pecans||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Cream the shortening and sugar in a bowl and add egg.
Beat in apple pie filling.
Sift the flour, salt, soda and baking powder together and add to creamed mixture.
Add the cheese and walnuts and mix quickly.
Pour into a well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
