Apple Oat Bread

Ingredients
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Shredded peeled apple 1 Cup (16 tbs) (raw, firmly packed for measuring)
  Sour milk/Buttermilk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Molasses 2 Tablespoon
  Melted shortening 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sifted all purpose flour 1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Rolled oats 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Raisins/Chopped nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Combine first five ingredients.
Sift next four ingredients together, then stir in sugar, oats and raisins.
Add liquid ingredients all at once and stir until mixture is blended.
Scrape into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350F for 50 to 60 minutes.
Cool, then wrap to slice the next day.
