Beer And Bread Soup
|Dark rye bread loaf||1 Small|
|Water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Dark beer/Ale||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Whole lemon||1 , juiced and rind grated|
|Light cream/Whipped cream||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (For Garnish)|
Break the bread in small pieces into a mixing bowl.
Mix the water and beer and pour this over the bread.
Allow it to stand for several hours.
When ready to serve, cook the mixture over a low flame, stirring occasionally, just long enough for it to thicken.
Bring it to a boil and add the sugar, lemon juice, and lemon rind.
