Sweet And Savory Braids
|Risen rich milk dough||1⁄2 (1/2 quantity)|
|Melted butter/Margarine||1 Tablespoon|
Roll out the dough to a rectangle 9 inches by 12 inches.
Place on a greased baking sheet and brush with melted fat.
Spread filling down the center.
Using a sharp knife make diagonal cuts about 2 inches apart down the remaining dough on both sides.
Take a strip at a time from alternate sides and cross them over the filling to give the top a braided effect.
Cover and let rise for about 30 minutes in a warm place.
Bake in the center of a moderately hot oven (375°F) for 25-30 minutes.
Transfer to a cake rack and cool.
