Orange Flower Bread
|Confectioner' s sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Orange rind||1 Tablespoon, grated|
|Orange juice||3 Tablespoon|
Grease an 8-inch springform pan.
Turn the dough into the pan and press it out evenly to the sides.
Take off the sides and place a plain 3-inch round cookie cutter in the center of the dough.
Using a sharp knife, cut through the dough from the outside edge of the dough to the edge of the cutter at about 1-inch intervals.
Replace the sides, then taking each strip of dough separately, twist it twice and lay it down in the same place again.
Cover and let rise. (Itwill rise above the top of the pan when fully risen.) Brush with egg wash.
Bake in the center of a moderately hot oven (375°F) for about 30 minutes.
Remove the sides, transfer to a cake rack and cool.
Sift the confectioners' sugar and mix with the grated orange rind and orange juice.
Pourthe frosting onto the center of the bread and leave it to run down the sides.
