Apple Brown Bread

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Pound (1/2 Cup)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1 , cut into pieces
  Dark molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  All-purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs), unsifted
  Graham flour 2 Cup (32 tbs), unsifted
  Soda 2 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Buttermilk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Chopped unpeeled tart apple 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Chopped walnuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Beat together butter and brown sugar until light and creamy.: Beat in egg; then stir in molasses until blended.
In another bowl, stir together all-purpose flour, graham flour, soda, baking powder, and salt until thoroughly blended.
Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture; after each addition mix just until blended.
Stir in apple and nuts.
Spoon batter into 2 greased and flour-dusted 4 1/2 by 8 1/2-inch pans (or into 3 pans, each 3 3/4 by 7 3/8 inches).
Bake in a 350° oven for about 1 1/2 hours (about 1 hour and 15 minutes for smaller pans) or until bread begins to pull away from sides of pans and a wooden skewer inserted in center comes out clean.
Let cool in pans for 10 minutes; then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
