Old Fashioned Bread Stuffing
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Poultry seasoning/Ground sage||1 Teaspoon|
|Dry bread cubes||8 Cup (128 tbs)|
|Chicken broth/Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cook onion in butter or margarine till tender; add poultry seasoning or sage, salt, and pepper.
Combine with bread cubes.
Drizzle with broth; toss to mix well.
Use to stuff a 10-pound turkey (or two 4- to 5-pound roasting chickens) or bake, covered, in a 2-quart casserole at 325° for 40 to 45 minutes.
