Ingredients
  Flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Raisins 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Apple 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Orange rind 1 Teaspoon, grated
  Orange juice 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Nuts 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), chopped
Directions

1. Cream shortening, then cream in sugar, eggs and vanilla.
2. Stir in finely chopped apple and orange rind.
3. Add dry ingredients alternately with orange juice.
4. Stir in nuts and raisins.
5. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes.
