Easy Holiday Bread
|Flour||3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)|
|Active dry yeast||1 Tablespoon|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Unsalted butter||4 Tablespoon|
|Sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chopped candied red cherries||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped candied green cherries||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Golden raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1 Combine 1 cup flour and yeast in large mixing bowl.
2 Heat milk, butter, sugar, and salt to hot (120°-130°F). Add milk mixture and egg to flour mixture. Mix thoroughly.
3 Add cherries and raisins. Add enough remaining flour to make a stiff batter.
4 Grease 5 x 9-inch loaf pan or souffle dish. Pour batter into pan. Cover; let rise in warm place until double€”about 1 hour.
5 Bake in a preheated 350°F oven about 50€”60 minutes or until done. Cool on wire rack.
