Basic White Bread Sauce

|Enriched white bread slice||1|
|Skim milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Imitation butter flavoring||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|White pepper||To Taste|
Put bread in blender to make crumbs.
In saucepan, scald milk (heat without boiling until tiny bubbles form around the edge), add bread crumbs and butter flavoring if desired.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Season lightly with salt and pepper.
