Date Bran Bread

Ingredients
  All-purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Baking powder 3 Teaspoon
  Bran 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Dates 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs), sliced
  Egg 1
  Milk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon, melted
Directions

MAKING
1.In a bowl, combine first 4 ingredients
2.Now stir in the bran and dates
3.Now beat in the egg, and also add milk and shortening
4.Add dry ingredients and mix only enough to dampen all the flour
5.Pour into greased molds, cover closely and steam 3 hours

SERVING
6.Serve as a side dish to gravy dishes
