Bran Ginger Snaps

Ingredients
  Sifted all purpose flour 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ginger 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Molasses 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter/Shortening 6 Tablespoon
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  40% bran flakes/Post raisin bran 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (Post Brand)
Directions

Sift flour once, measure, add soda, salt, and ginger, and sift again.
Combine molasses, butter, and sugar in a saucepan.
Cook gently 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Cool to lukewarm.
Add cereal and mix well.
Then add flour mixture and mix thoroughly.
Chill until firm enough to roll.
Roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured board.
Cut with 1 3/4-inch cooky cutter.
Place on greased baking sheet and bake in moderate oven (350°F.) for 10 minutes or until done.
