Chocolate Chip Bran Muffins

Bake up these lovely chocolate chip bran muffins if you love chocolate and cant get enough of it! This chocolate muffin recipe lets you indulge sinlessly! Made with bran and flour, the cocoa and chocolate chips gives you a dark and irresistable muffin that is as healthy as it is delicious.
Ingredients
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (Around 175 milliliter)
  Oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Around 50 milliliter)
  Egg 1 , well beaten
  Bran 250 Milliliter (Around 1 Cup)
  All-purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs) (Around 250 milliliter)
  Baking powder 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon (Around 12 milliliter)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon (Around 2 milliliter)
  Cocoa 3 Tablespoon (Around 45 milliliter)
  Granulated sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Around 125 milliliter)
  Chocolate chips 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Around 125 milliliter)
Directions

Microwave muffin pan, paper-lined
In a bowl combine milk, oil and egg.
Stir in bran.
In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa.
Add sugar to the liquid mixture.
Stir in flour mixture and add chocolate chips.
Spoon batter into prepared muffin pan, filling cups two-thirds full.
Place pan on a rack in the microwave.
Bake on High for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes, rotating pan halfway through cooking time.
Let stand for 3 to 5 minutes before removing from pan.

For my first ever Bran Muffin experience, I was expecting to be horrified and sworn off Bran Muffins for life due to the unsavoury reports you often see on tv. But i was pleasantly suprised! The chocolate adds deliciousness, obviously, and is the perfect amount. And for those who have never attempted Bran Muffins, its honestly just like you have some descicated coconut in with the chocolate. Overall: YUM!!!

Love these! They are good just they way they are but I use buttermilk instead of milk, whole wheat flour instead of regular, a whole cup of chocolate chips and a whole cup of sugar instead of 1/2. And they are only approx 5 points for weight watchers too
