1. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Set aside.
2. Beat shortening and sugar until light and fluffy; add egg and beat well. Stir in bananas, All-Bran, vanilla and nuts. Add All-Bran mixture to sifted dry ingredients, stirring only until combined. Spread in well greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
3. Bake in moderate oven (350°F.) about 1 hour or until done. Let stand until cool before slicing.
