Ingredients
  Butter 8 Tablespoon, softened
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg whites 3 Large
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
Directions

Heat the oven to 375 degrees.
Lightly butter 2 baking sheets.
Beat the butter and sugar until they are light and creamy.
Add the egg whites one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla and fold in the flour and salt.
Fit a pastry bag with a 1/2-inch plain tip.
Spoon the batter into the pastry bag, no more than two-thirds full, and twist the top.
Pipe the batter onto the baking sheets in 2-inch strips, leaving about 2 inches between each.
Bake in the center of the oven for 8 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned.
Cool on wire racks.
Bake the remaining batter in the same way.
