|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs), sifted|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Milk||6 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|American cheese cubes||8|
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cut in shortening until particles are fine.
Add milk and stir until dough clings together.
Knead on lightly floured surface 12 times.
Divide into 8 pieces.
Mold dough around cheese cubes.
