Buttermilk Drop Biscuits
|All purpose flour||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (375 Milliliter)|
|Granulated sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 Milliliter)|
|Baking powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon (7 Milliliter)|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon (2 Milliliter)|
|Salt||1⁄4 Teaspoon (1 Milliliter)|
|Soft margarine||3 Tablespoon, cold (45 Milliliter)|
|Raisins/Dried cherries||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (50 Milliliter)|
|Buttermilk/Low-fat yogurt||175 Milliliter (0.75 Cup)|
In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Stir together very well.
With pastry cutter or finger tips, cut margarine into flour mixture until it is in tiny bits.
Stir in raisins.
Pour buttermilk over flour mixture and stir until a rough batter is formed.
Drop batter in 10 mounds on non-stick or parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Bake in preheated 425Â°F/220Â°C oven for 12 to 18 minutes, or until lightly browned.
