|Wheat bran cereal||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Shreds)|
|Whole wheat flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All-purpose flour||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Grated orange rind||1 Teaspoon|
|Vegetable cooking spray||1 Teaspoon|
Combine buttermilk and cereal in a small bowl; set aside.
Combine next 7 ingredients in a medium bowl, mixing well.
Cur in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Add reserved cereal mixture, stirring with a fork just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough our onto a floured surface; knead 4 to 5 rimes.
Roll dough to 1/2-inch Thickness, cutwith a 2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
Bake at 400Â° for 12 minutes or until biscuits are lightly browned.
