Bran-Orange Biscuits is a delicious snack recipe that you will simply love to serve to your loved ones. I am sure, once you try this, you will always crave for some more.
  Low fat buttermilk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Wheat bran cereal 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Shreds)
  Whole wheat flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  All-purpose flour 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Grated orange rind 1 Teaspoon
  Shortening 3 Tablespoon
  Vegetable cooking spray 1 Teaspoon

Combine buttermilk and cereal in a small bowl; set aside.
Combine next 7 ingredients in a medium bowl, mixing well.
Cur in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Add reserved cereal mixture, stirring with a fork just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough our onto a floured surface; knead 4 to 5 rimes.
Roll dough to 1/2-inch Thickness, cutwith a 2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
Bake at 400° for 12 minutes or until biscuits are lightly browned.
Serve warm.
