Baking Powder Biscuits

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
Directions

Sift flour, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl.
Cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture has texture of quick-cooking oatmeal.
Add milk; stir with fork to make soft dough.
An extra tablespoon of milk may be used if mixture seems too stiff.
Place on lightly floured board, and knead gently 8 to 10 times.
Roll or pat dough to desired thickness, and cut with floured cutter.
Pat leftover dough together, and cut again.
Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet, close together for soft-sided biscuits or about 1 inch apart for crusty ones.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 450°F.
Makes 18 to 20 biscuits (approximately 1 3/4 inches in diameter).
