|Sifted flour||1 2⁄3 Cup (26.67 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cream of tartar||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Buttermilk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream shortening and sugar; sift flour, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar together.
Blend buttermilk and soda.
Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk mixture to creamed mixture.
Roll out on lightly floured board; cut with biscuit cutter.
Place biscuits on baking sheet.
Bake at 475 degrees for 10 minutes.
