Quick Caramel Biscuits
|Unsliced bread loaf||1 Pound|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Dark corn syrup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped nuts||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Seedless raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Melted butter||3 Tablespoon (For Brushing)|
Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
Turn cut surface down and cut through the crust sides to form 8 sections or "biscuits" to each half of the loaf.
Do not cut all the way through but leave "biscuits" connected on lower edge.
Put the 1/3 cup butter in a 9-inch square baking pan and place in the oven to melt.
Add sugar, syrup, the nuts and half the raisins.
Scatter the remaining raisins between the "biscuits." Then turn them crust side down into the syrup, brush the top surface with the remaining butter.
Place in a hot oven (425° F.) for 15 minutes.
Turn upside down on serving plate, pour any syrup remaining in the pan over biscuits.
