Meat And Biscuit Squares

Ingredients
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  American cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs), grated
  Eggs 2
  Hot sauce 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Parsley 2 Tablespoon, chopped
  Sifted flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 3 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Milk 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Saute ground beef and onion in skillet until lightly browned; stir occasionally.
Remove from heat; cool.
Combine beef mixture with cheese, 1 egg, hot sauce, 11/2 teaspoons salt and parsley; blend lightly.
Sift flour, baking powder and remaining salt together; cut in shortening to consistency of coarse meal.
Add remaining egg and milk; mix lightly.
Turn dough out onto lightly floured board; knead 15 to 20 times.
Divide dough in half; spread half the dough into 9-inch square pan.
Spread beef mixture over dough; cover with remaining dough.
Brush top crust with additional egg yolk.
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.
