Fluffy Buttermilk Biscuits
|Rising flour||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Shortening||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Buttermilk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Butter||1 , melted|
Combine flour and sugar in a large bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
Add buttermilk, stirring with a fork just until dry ingredients are moistened.
(Dough will be sticky.) Turn dough out onto a heavily floured surface, and knead lightly 4 or 5 times.
Roll dough to 3/4-inch thickness; cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet; bake at 425° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
Remove from oven; brush with butter.
