Simple Biscuits Supreme

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Cream of tartar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Milk 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
Directions

Stir thoroughly the first 5 ingredients.
Cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in center; add milk all at once.
Stir just till dough clings together.
Knead gently on lightly floured surface (10 to 12 strokes).
Roll or pat to 1/2 inch thickness.
Dip 2 1/4-inch biscuit cutter in flour; cut dough straight down.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.
