|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs) (sifted)|
|Baking powder||4 Teaspoon|
|Celery seeds||2 Teaspoon|
|Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl.
Add celery seeds, paprika and sage and mix lightly with fork.
Add shortening and cut in finely.
Stir in enough milk with a fork to make a soft puffy dough that is easy to handle and roll.
Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter or into wedges and use to top chicken pie as directed above.
