Butter Biscuits

Ingredients
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs) (sifted)
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Cream of tartar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 2 Teaspoon
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter flavor 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon (adams)
  Milk 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
Directions

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar and sugar; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add butter flavor to milk, and then add all at once; stir only until dough follows fork around bowl.
Turn out on lightly floured surface; knead gently 1/2 minute.
Pat or roll 1/2 inch thick; cut with biscuit cutter.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450° for 10-12 minutes.
