Old Fashioned Hot Biscuits
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||2 Teaspoon|
|Lard||6 Tablespoon (Leveled)|
|Sweet milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Sift flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder into a mixing bowl.
With the edge of a large kitchen spoon cut the lard into the flour until it is the size of large peas.
This should be done lightly with a scooping motion, lifting some of the flour with each stroke rather than mashing the lard into the flour.
Then stir in the milk.
Cover a board with flour and roll the ball of dough out 1/2 inch thick.
Cut out biscuits with the top of a can or a biscuit cutter, and place in a greased baking pan.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes in a 500° oven, until brown.
