Beets With Raisins

Ingredients
  Sliced beets can 1 Ounce
  Sugar 3 Tablespoon
  Cornstarch 2 Teaspoon
  Ground ginger 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
  Raisins 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 2 Tablespoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1) Drain beets in a colander.
2) Reserve 3/4 cup liquid for later use.

MAKING
3) In a saucepan mix together sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and salt.
4) Mix reserved beet liquid and lemon juice.
5) Put raisins and stir.
6) Cook and stir till bubbly.
7) Stir in butter and beets. Simmer on moderate heat.
8) Heat thoroughly for 5 to 10 minutes.

SERVING
9) Serve warm or cold.
