Ingredients
  Olive oil 2 Teaspoon
Sweet onion 1 Large, sliced into 0.25 in. rings
  Bratwurst 6
Dark beer/0.5 bottle dark beer 1⁄2 Can (5 oz)

1. Heat 1 tsp. olive oil in large stock pot. Brown brat sausages until deep golden brown. Remove to a platter.
2. To the drippings add the remaining tsp. of olive oil and the onion. Toss onions to coat with the oil. Cook, stirring often, until onions are limp and golden but not brown.
3. Return the brat sausages to the onions and add the beer. Cook over medium heat until beer has cooked down to syrup, about 12 to 15 minutes. Brats may be served on buns with the onions or as an entrée.
