Shoulder Shanks With Beer

Ingredients
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm)
  Shoulder shanks 3
  Bacon fat 50 Milliliter
  Flour 50 Milliliter
  Savory 5 Milliliter
  Beer 60 Milliliter
  Sugar 5 Milliliter
  Bay leaves 2
  Lemon 1
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Make slits in the meat and place a sliver of garlic into each.
Mix together the flour, salt, pepper, savory.
Coat the shanks thoroughly with the mixture.
Heat a browning dish (Corning) 7 minutes at HIGH.
Without removing the dish from the oven, add the ba-con fat, then place the floured shanks one next to the other in it.
Brown 5 minutes at HIGH.
Turn each piece of meat.
Add the beer, sugar, bay leaves, lemon juice and rind.
Cover and microwave 10 minutes at HIGH.
Remove the shanks to another dish, pour the gravy all around.
Cover and microwave 30 to 40 minutes at MEDIUM.
Halfway through the cooking, baste the meat with the cooking juices.
