Wassail Beer Bowl

Ingredients
  Beer 3 Quart
  Powdered sugar 1 Pound
  Whole nutmeg 1 , freshly grated
  Powdered ginger 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dry sherry 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Thin lemon slices 4 , seeded
  White toast slices 6 (Use Freshly Made)
Directions

Heat beer (do not boil) with sugar, nutmeg, ginger, sherry and lemon.
Bring almost to boiling point.
Remove from heat.
Taste for sweetening.
Pour into large heated bowl containing 6 slices of freshly made toast.
Serve as hot as possible in punch glasses.
Serves 16 to 18.
