Wassail Beer Bowl
|Powdered sugar||1 Pound|
|Whole nutmeg||1 , freshly grated|
|Powdered ginger||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Dry sherry||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Thin lemon slices||4 , seeded|
|White toast slices||6 (Use Freshly Made)|
Heat beer (do not boil) with sugar, nutmeg, ginger, sherry and lemon.
Bring almost to boiling point.
Remove from heat.
Taste for sweetening.
Pour into large heated bowl containing 6 slices of freshly made toast.
Serve as hot as possible in punch glasses.
Serves 16 to 18.
