Beef With Anchovies

Ingredients
  Thinly sliced onions 9 Ounce
  Garlic clove 2 Large, crushed
  Dry white wine 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Anchovy fillets in oil 4 , chopped
  Tomato 1 , coarsely chopped
  Ground black pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Powdered cloves 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Fresh thyme sprig 1
  Bay leaf 1
  Beef top round 1 3⁄4 Pound (Topside)
  Soft brown sugar 2 Teaspoon
  Wine vinegar 3 Tablespoon
  Sour cream 3 Tablespoon (Crme Fraiche)
Directions

Put the onions and garlic into a casserole.
Cover and microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes.
Pour the white wine over the onions.
Add the anchovies, tomato, black pepper, powdered cloves, thyme and bay leaf.
Mix well.
Cover and microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes.
Add the beef, brown sugar and vinegar.
Stir well.
Cover and microwave on HIGH for a further 5 minutes.
Reduce the power to MEDIUM HIGH and cook for 35-40 minutes until the meat is tender.
Stir after every 10 minutes of cooking time.
Test to see if the beef is cooked, then transfer the meat to a heated serving dish.
Leave to stand for 10 minutes.
Discard the thyme and bay leaf, add the sour cream (creme fraiche), pour over the meat
