Quick Chili Beef
|Lean ground beef||1 Pound|
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped green pepper||2 Tablespoon|
|Tomato juice||1 Quart|
|Water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Chili powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Thin noodles||4 Cup (64 tbs) (Uncooked)|
|Peas/1 package frozen peas / beans||1 Can (10 oz), cooked, drained|
In a heavy 4 quart pan or Dutch oven, brown meat, onion and green pepper, stirring to break up meat.
Add tomato juice, water, salt and chili powder.
Bring to a boil.
Stir in noodles.
Bring to a boil again.
Cover and simmer 10 minutes until noodles are tender, stirring once.
Stir in peas or beans during last 2 minutes of cooking to heat through.
Makes 6 servings.
