|Boiling water||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Fry onions slowly in melted shortening until light and brown.
Remove from pan and save for later use.
Cut beef into several pieces; add to pan.
Increase heat and brown meat on both sides.
Mix flour with salt, pepper and thyme; sprinkle over meat.
Add water, vinegar, catsup and onion.
Cover pan and simmer until meat is tender, about 2 hours.
Serve over cooked fluffy rice.
