Ground Beef And Mushroom Pizza On Biscuit Crust

  Butter 2 Tablespoon (25 Milliliter)
  Beef 1 Pound (500 G)
  Mushrooms 1⁄2 Pound, sliced (250 G)
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Dried oregano 1 Teaspoon (5 Milliliter)
  Hot pepper flakes 10 Gram
  Tomato sauce 7 1⁄2 Ounce (7-0.5 Ounce/213 Milliliter)
  Mozzarella cheese 1⁄2 Pound, thinly sliced (250 G)
  Biscuit base 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  All purpose flour 2 Cup (32 tbs) (500 Milliliter)
  Baking powder 4 Teaspoon (20 Milliliter)
  Granulated sugar 1 Tablespoon (15 Milliliter)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon (2 Milliliter)
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (125 Milliliter)
  Milk 150 Milliliter (2/3 Cup)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste

In large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat; cook beef, mushrooms, garlic, oregano, hot pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste, breaking up meat with wooden spoon, for about 5 minutes or until meat is browned.
Stir in tomato sauce; cook for about 3 minutes or until thickened.
Biscuit Base:
In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
With two knives or pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir together milk and egg; add all at once to flour mixture.
Stir gently just until combined.
Turn out onto well-floured surface; with floured hands, knead gently 20 times.
Press evenly into greased 12-inch (30 cm) round pizza pan.
Sprinkle evenly with meat mixture; top with mozzarella.
Bake in 450°F (230°C) oven for about 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
