|Finely chopped canned beets||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Finely chopped onion||8 Ounce|
|Beet juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Heavy cream||2 Tablespoon|
|Chopped capers||1 Tablespoon|
Toast 6 slices rye bread and spread each with some of the 1/4 cup butter or margarine.
Combine 1 lb. ground round steak with 1/2 cup each finely chopped beets, and finely chopped onion 2 tablespoons each beet juice and heavy cream, 1 tablespoon drained, chopped capers, 1 egg yolk, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
Spread beef mixture over toast slices and broil 6 inches from heat 5 to 8 minutes, depending on rareness desired.
Any bread you like may be used here rye bread is the traditional type served in Sweden.
