Beef Strips With Raisins

Ingredients
  Seedless raisins 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Red wine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Steaks 1 Pound
  Flour 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
  Salad oil 1 1⁄2 Tablespoon
  Boiling water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Bay leaf 1
  Thyme 1 Pinch
  Boiling water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Rice 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Pick over, wash and drain raisins.
Put to soak in wine.
Prepare steaks by cutting into strips about 1/2" x 2".
Combine flour, salt and pepper and coat strips.
Heat oil in frying pan until it begins to sputter.
Put in flour-coated meat, and brown thoroughly.
Reduce heat to simmer; add wine with raisins and only enough boiling water to barely cover.
Add bay leaf and thyme.
Cover tightly, and simmer 1 hour or less or until meat is very tender.
Remove bay leaf before serving over Fluffy Rice
