Fry 2 sliced onions in fat, slowly with a lid on the pan to get them tender without browning, then add some finely chopped mixed herbs don't cook any more and leave to get cold.
Whisk up 2 eggs and fold in the above mixture.
Dip the slices of cold boiled beef (or cold meat from the joint) in it one by one.
Put in a greased fireproof dish and brown in the oven for 15 minutes.
