Cornish Pasties

Ingredients
  Flour 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Lard 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt To Taste
  Beef 1 1⁄2 Pound, chopped
  Pork 1⁄2 Pound, chopped
  Potatoes 8 Medium, diced
  Rutabagas 1 Cup (16 tbs), diced
  Onions 2 Medium, chopped
  Pepper 1
Directions

Mix flour, lard and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt together with pastry blender; add 8 tablespoons water or enough to form soft dough.
Divide dough into 6 portions; roll out on floured board into 10-inch cir- cles.
Combine beef, pork, potatoes, rutabagas and onions; season with salt and pepper to taste.
Place 1/6 of the beef mixture on 1/2 of each circle.
Fold dough over; crimp edges.
Make slot in each pastry.
Place on cookie sheet.
Bake in 350-degree oven for 1 hour.
