Savory Beef Cakes
|Canned scotch broth soup||10 1⁄2 Ounce (1 can)|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Quick cooking rolled oats||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Ground beef||1 1⁄4 Pound|
|Fat/Oil||2 Tablespoon, melted|
|Beef extract/Beef bouillon cube - 1/2||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1 In a bowl, empty the soup can.
2 Add in the egg, oats and salt.
3 Beat thoroughly to mix.
4 Add in the beef, mixing well.
5 With lightly dampen hands, form the mixture into 12 cakes.
6 In a large skillet, heat the fat over moderate heat.
7 Add in the meat cakes.
8 Chop onion or cut, into crosswise slices.
9 Toss them over meat.
10 Brown the beef, cooking for 7 to 8 minutes on each side.
11 Transfer to a hot platter.
12 To the pan drippings, add in beef extract and water
13 Heat to boiling.
14 Pour over beef.
15 Serve hot.
