  Short ribs of beef 2 Pound
  Fat 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Canned tomatoes 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Green pepper 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), finely chopped
  Onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), finely chopped
  Celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), finely chopped
Directions

Brown beef in hot fat in 3 quart Saucepan.
Add salt, pepper, and vegetables and mix well.
Cover.
When valve begins to click, reduce heat to low and simmer until tender —about 1 hour.
Thicken juices for gravy as desired.
